Click image for a hi-res gallery of the Cadillac Provoq at CES

Fresh from the floor of the Sands, where GM supreme leader Rick Wagoner delivered the CES keynote, we have photos of the Cadillac Provoq fuel cell concept, courtesy of our own Sam Abuelsamid. The Provoq, as you likely know by know, makes use of the E-Flex architecture that also underpinned last year's Chevy Volt and Opel Flextreme concepts. If you like what you see, plan on seeing more of it in the not-too-distant future. The styling of the Provoq is likely very close to what we'll see when Cadillac eventually pulls the wraps off its upcoming BRX crossover. That's down the line, howeve. In the meantime, check out the gallery below for our first look at the Provoq in the metal.

Detroit: Cadillac Unveils Picture-Perfect CTS Coupe

Detroit: Cadillac Unveils Picture-Perfect CTS Coupe

Okay, enough GM-bashing. When a company can roll out a car as dazzling as the Cadillac CTS Coupe, it's doing pretty well in my book. They're calling it a concept, but it looks about as showroom-ready as the stunning CTS-V sedan unveiled alongside it. The B-pillarless Coupe is designed around Cadillac's excellent 304-horsepower, 3.6-liter direct-injection V-6, paired to a six-speed manual gearbox, but it will also handily accommodate GM's the forthcoming 250-horsepower, 2.9-liter turbodiesel engine. Perhaps looking smaller in photographs than it really is (thanks to huge 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels), the Coupe rides on the same wheelbase as the CTS sedan, but it's two inches shorter bumper-to-bumper and roof-to-ground. The two-plus-two interior, with seats by Recaro, features black and yellow hide with contrasting stitching and suede-like microfiber inserts. It's as beautifully detailed as most anything I've seen recently from a European automaker. We're all pleased to see GM get on the hybrid/diesel/electric bandwagon. There was no shortage of green thinking on the company's show stands, a good deal of it headed to the production line. But in the end, saving fuel is one thing, saving the company is another. Cars like the CTS Coupe are what earned GM its 'Standard of the World' slogan way back when, and it'll be cars like this that earn it back.

Cadillac UK sets equal pricing for BLS sedan or wagon

Cadillac UK sets equal pricing for BLS sedan or wagon

At the Frankfurt Motor Show this past September, Cadillac unveiled the BLS estate, the company's first wagon. The Euro-only Caddy, which slots into the line-up below the CTS, is based on the Saab 9-3 and takes on its wagon bodystyle in addition to a sedan. Cadillac's British operation has released its pricing scheme for the latest BLS, and intriguingly set the base MSRP at the exact same level as the sedan.

For £21,495, British customers can choose the BLS sedan or 'estate' wagon, with either a gasoline or diesel base engine, beyond which Cadillac is offering an additional three engine options for the sedan or five for the wagon, including a new 180-hp turbodiesel and Saab's 200-hp Biopower ethanol engine, relabeled for the Caddy as Flexpower. No matter the engine or bodystyle choice, the BLS comes fully equipped with Elegance remaining as the only trim level and only metallic paint (£500) and sunroof (£650) as optional equipment.

Cadillac launches the BLS wagon in the UK with diesel and flex-fuel engines

Cadillac launches the BLS wagon in the UK with diesel and flex-fuel engines

Since its launch a couple of years ago, sales of the Cadillac BLS have been less than stellar, to say the least. The BLS is a Europe-only model based on the Saab 9-3 and built at Saab's factory in Sweden. At its launch it was only available in four-door sedan form with gasoline engines. Aside from the fact GM that did a less-than-optimal translation of the Cadillac design language, the absence of a diesel or Estate (European for station wagon) helped to doom the BLS. Cadillac has now remedied at least some of the flaws with a new wagon model and some new engines. The BLS is now available with GM's 180hp 1.9L turbodiesel as well as Saab's 200hp flex-fuel turbocharged four cylinder. GM expects the wagon to account for up to half of BLS sales in the UK.
